As two engaging mystery stories, both, The Agency for Scandal, and The Season for Scandal are a perfect read on any day. With a hint of romance and a spoonful of the 19th century, it embodies the spirit of subterfuge whilst also giving all of its readers much suspense in both the cases. Scandal, of course plays a huge role and as seen in even modern-day high society, it shapes the rules of our world. Laura Wood perfectly symbolises this with all her tales, using couples of men and women to create her detectives’ next case. Some even say she has made a mashup of Bridgerton and Enola Holmes, two series which I am sure rivet and hook most who have watched it. Finally, as a tip from me, a delicious, themed treat to enjoy with your book, would be Marigold Bloom’s lavender shortbread as mentioned in the sequel.
